Sadly, I can’t fly off to Paris for delicious eclairs whever the whim strikes. But I am fortunate enough to have famed French Pastry Chef Christophe Adams’ shop a 10 minute walk from my house.
Stephanie and I visited L’Eclair de Génie during her visit last year, and I was there again on Saturday with my aunt and cousin. Both times I found it really difficult to choose between the pretty offerings. But I’m pretty sure that the staff behind the counter are used to people just like me who drool on the glass display cases and hum and haw while trying to decide. Here’s what we finally ordered..
From top to bottom..
N°148 – Tiramisu
Mascarpone chantilly and Dulcey/coffe ganache & Caramel/coffee coulis and coffee syrup.
N°122 – Chantilly Fraise
Strawberry & orange blossom confit, mascarpone chantilly, fresh strawberries and hazelnut streusel.
N°1 – Caramel Beurre Salé
Salted caramel & mascarpone cream.
What a wonderful trip down memory lane! One of my favourite memories of my last trip to Paris was sipping crisp rosé and nibbling on delicious eclairs that Stephanie and I had purchased at Eric Kayser earlier the same day, while we reminisced about our day in one of our favourite cities.
