Early Riser

I forgot to turn my daily “drag myself out of bed for work” alarm off, so I’ve been awake since 5:45am. BUT I still managed to get a solid 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep. YAY!

Early morning is my favourite time of day when travelling, as it’s when I hear the sounds of a city come to life.

Deliveries are made, streets are being cleaned and – in Paris – I get to see the baguettes going into the oven from the comfort of our hotel room.

That might be difficult to see, so here it is zoomed in.

I’m currently reading in the dark, and am thoroughly enjoying writer/pastry chef/blogger David Lebovitz’s L’Appart, where he humorously writes of his delights and disasters of making his Paris home.

Once Stephanie emerges from her slumber, we’re headed to our favourite pharmacie to stock up on our favourite French skin care products.

We’ve got a busy day ahead, and I’m looking forward to sharing today’s #POTD later on.

Bisous bisous,

Marla
