59 Rivoli

A former squat turned city-owned gallery/studio space, 59 Rivoli showcases counter-culture art under the artist collective Chez Robert, Electron Libre.

I found it to be mostly overwhelming, if I’m completely honest. There’s so much on display and everything feels like it’s fighting for your attention.

Check out my photos and let me know what you think in the comment section.

I like tea and cats and travel and murder mysteries and taking photos and eating delicious food and Spring flowers and witty humour and birdsong and British Royals and a nice cold IPA and random tidbits and .. DID I MENTION THAT I LIKE CATS? Come check out my blogs and see what I find myself getting up to!

  1. I agree. A bit of “white space” is needed, as you have in most traditional galleries. That is, empty wall space or floor space between photos. In publishing, we like white space because it helps the type and/or art to stand out. Still, some amazing pieces in this place you found.

  2. Looks like an incredible place! I’m glad I got to see it through your eyes as I’m able to focus on one or two objects at a time. Edgy and eccentric, the art does seem to jump out at you and beg your attention. I think I would have to make sure I’ve had a cup of coffee, or better yet, a glass of wine, before I visited.
