Zefferelli’s Dignified Spaghetti Joint

My boyfriend and I recently enjoyed dinner at Zefferelli’s. We’ve been on a bit of an Italian kick lately. I’m even writing this as leftover pizza reheats in the oven. Not that either of us is complaining, mind you. Italian is definitely one of our favourite cuisines.

Each table receives warm bread with garlicky tomato sauce dip.

I wish we had known this, as we’d have ordered something other than the tomato bruschetta to start. I forgot to take a photo of the bruschetta, but it was nice. So was the house red.

The restaurant is on the (Canadian) second floor, overlooking Robson Street. I think next time I’ll request a window seat.

Someone’s really looking forward to their dinner..

If you order the Antipasto Misto appetizer, your server will assemble you a platter of cold appetizershere.

I ordered a dish I’d never had before; Chicken Marsala.

I’m not sure how I’ve lived my life until now without ever having it. I plan to make up for lost time.


It was served with spaghetti alio-olio which might just be my new favourite way to eat pasta.

And in a shocking turn of events, my boyfriend ordered

.. drum roll, please ..

the spaghetti with meat sauce!

Old habits die hard.

I don’t think we’ll be running back, as the meal (in my opinion) didn’t live up to the prices. But the server was lovely and the food was tasty.
